First Methodist Kids Program

Train up children in the way they should go; even when they are old they will not depart from it.
— Proverbs 22:6

First Methodist of Altus Children’s Ministry is passionate about teaching children the core foundations of the Christian faith.

Sunday mornings involve bible story lessons, character-building activities, and ensuring children thrive in an environment where they know they are loved, valued, and safe.

Worship on Wednesday (WOW) offers an opportunity to gather together for fun games, short biblical lessons, and missions. Examples of missions we’ve participated in include Operation Gratitude, The Heifer Project, and dozens of local outreach projects. Teaching children at an early age how to be the hands and feet of Christ is important to us here at First Methodist.

There are many opportunities for children to participate at First Methodist of Altus. There is an annual Christmas production with costumes and a performance. We go to children’s camp each summer for grades 3rd-5th. Vacation Bible School is held in June. We offer acolyte training for 3rd grade and up and a Bible class for 3rd grade and up annually in the fall.

We look forwad to being a part of your children’s Christian walk.
